MURFREESBORO, N.C.
Whitley’s Bar-B-Que celebrated its official grand reopening this past Saturday in style. Beginning at lunch, there was face painting for the kids and a reduced cost buffet to begin the festivities set for the day. At around 4 p.m., Judy Hachey, executive director of the Murfreesboro Chamber of Commerce, helped with the official ribbon cutting by owner Cassie James, assisted by husband, Colton, and son, Austin.

The restaurant enjoyed a steady flow of customers all day and into the night, with standing room only at times especially when the music began around 9 p.m. In addition to sounds by DJ “JC,” Colton James, a recording artist, entertained the crowd with several of his own personal recordings as well as some old time favorites. Additionally, several customers joined in to sing a few songs with karaoke. A near-capacity crowd enjoyed the festivities all evening.

Cassie James said, “I can’t believe it. All of these people that are here to help us reopen. We love our family and friends and want to thank everyone that has helped to get this building in order over the past several months and for everyone’s support.

“We could not have done this without everyone’s help. Thank you.”
