SEDLEY

Douglas Glenn Martin, 42, and Angela Huneycutt Martin, 35, went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2015.

They are survived by both of their parents, Glenn P. and Edna H. Martin, Vinson E. and Betty W. Huneycutt; daughters, Allison Brooke Martin and Kaitlyn Ashley Martin; Doug’s sister, Dawn Martin Hoggard (Eddie); Angela’s sisters, Carol Bragg (Jeremy), Vicki Goldbach (Richard), Rachel Glinke (Anthony); nieces and nephews, Kristen, Wendy, Tyler, Sarah, Hunter, Hudson, Trevor, Emily and Vinson; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Douglas was a native of Milwaukee, North Carolina, and graduated from Halifax Community College with two degrees, Electronics and Electric Mechanical. He went on to work as an instrument mechanic for International Paper. He was a loving father and electronics expert, and enjoyed fishing and scuba diving. Angela was a native of Suffolk, Virginia, was an excellent homemaker, loved being a mother, and had a passion for music and singing. She also worked as a retail pricing coordinator for Food Lion in Courtland, Virginia.

They were members of Antioch Church where Angie faithfully served in the nursery. Doug and Angie were married for 14 years and were so proud of their girls.

The funeral service to celebrate their lives will be on Friday, May 15, at 2 p.m. in Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Lindsay Poteat and the Rev. David Ross officiating. Entombment will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.

Friends may join the family on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home, and other times at the residence of Vinson and Betty Huneycutt.
