COURTLAND
Shortly before 3 p.m. on Monday afternoon, a Southampton County Public School bus traveling westbound on Route 58 (Southampton Parkway) was involved in a two-vehicle accident with a tractor trailer.

No children were on the bus at the time of the incident and neither the driver of the school bus or the semi were injured, according to Southampton Superintendent Dr. Alvera J. Parrish. With damage to the front of the bus, it had to be towed from the scene; the semi, meanwhile, was allowed to continue its route.

The cause of the accident, which occurred at the business route split just outside of Courtland, is still under investigation.
