The No. 1 seeded Southampton Academy Raiders (18-1) earned a first-round bye in the Virginia Commonwealth Tournament, and will begin tonight in the semifinals playing Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot (6-8) at Brunswick Academy in Lawrenceville.

Should the Raiders advance in the 3 p.m. game, the finals will be on Saturday against the winner of Tidewater Academy and Brunswick Academy. The finals begin at 1 p.m. at Brunswick Academy.

Meanwhile, on the lady’s side of the VCC bracket, not enough schools fielded varsity programs to host a tournament. The No. 1 VISAA Div. III Lady Raiders (17-2) will meanwhile wait to begin on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. They will host a yet-to-be-determined opponent, but it will likely be Quantico Middle High School.

Should they advance, the Lady Raiders will play at the Dinwiddie Sports Complex off of Route 460. The semifinal is on Thursday, May 14, and the finals are on Friday, May 15.

For the boys VISAA Div. III State Tournament, the Raiders are likely to remain the No. 1 seed regardless of the outcome of the conference tournament and also host a game. Currently, it is set to be Brunswick Academy, but the No. 8 slot is more fluid.

The semifinals and finals move to Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights. The semifinals would be on Thursday, May 14, and the Finals Saturday, May 16.
