SURRY—Karen Duncan Olin, 54, was called home to be with her Savior on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Karen was born on July 9, 1960, in South Boston, Virginia, to the late Rev. Dr. Alfred J. Duncan Sr. and Thaddia Bell Duncan.

Karen was a beloved member of the Mill Swamp Baptist Church family. She was a former member of the Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squad as well as the Surry Volunteer Rescue Squad. Karen was a woman of tremendous faith, exemplified by her love and commitment to all of her brothers and sisters in Christ.

She is survived by her loving husband, Randy Olin; two daughters, Amber Kessinger Wells and husband Robbie, and Kristin Kessinger, and Ashlynn Lane; two brothers, Alfred Duncan Jr. and Mark Duncan; three grandchildren, R.J. Wells, Jacob Wells and Peyton Hyde; and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Mill Swamp Baptist Church on Thursday, May 7, from 6-8 p.m. Services will be in Mill Swamp Baptist Church on Friday, May 8, at 11 a.m. Pastor Jim Jones officiated. Burial will follow in the Mill Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery.
