CHESPAEAKE
On Thursday, Del. Rick Morris (R-64), spoke at the Commonwealth Transportation Board’s public hearing in Chesapeake, to voice his concerns and opposition of the Northern Route of the 460 Bypass.

The hearing gave citizens the opportunity to review and provide comments on projects and programs to be included in the Fiscal Year Six-year Improvement Program including highway, rail and public transportation initiatives.

Residents from various regions of Virginia attended and voiced their opinions to a panel of five Commonwealth Transportation Board members, including Secretary of Transportation Aubrey Lane. The Commonwealth Transportation board establishes the administrative policies for Virginia’s transportation system and also allocates highway funding to specific projects, locates routes and provides funding for airports, seaports and public transportation.

If you would like to voice your opinion about the Route 460 project or any other transportation issue, you may send your comments to the Infrastructure Investment Director at 1401 E. Broad St., Richmond, VA 23219, or e-mail them to Six-YearProgram@VDOT.Virginia.gov.

Comments will be received until Friday, May 22.
