Crews work to clean up the wreckage from Wednesday’s head-on collision on Story’s Station Road — Andrew Lind | Tidewater News

Four people were transported to the hospital on Wednesday morning when a Dodge Journey sports utility vehicle and Toyota Sienna minivan collided head-on around a curve on Story’s Station Road. Those involved in the accident were transported to the hospital by ambulance and helicopter, although the extent of the injuries is undetermined at this time.

Major Gene H. Drewery of the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office said a call of a two vehicle crash was called in at 10:56 a.m. The accident occurred as the SUV was traveling eastbound into a wooded area, while the minivan was westbound.

As of 1:15 p.m. the road had been cleared and was reopened.
