Hazel W. Caudle

ZUNI—Hazel Wells Caudle, 85, of Zuni, Virginia, formerly of the Back Bay area of Virginia Beach, went to be with our Lord on April 24, 2015, surrounded by her family at home.
She was born in Harnett County, North Carolina, to the late John B. and Katie Moore Wells. She was predeceased by her siblings, Thelma and Laura Wells, Berma Morris, Alma Durham, John and Paul Wells; her former husband, James Calhoun; and the love of her life for 36 years, Harold W. Henley.
She was also predeceased by her son, Johnny Calhoun, and his wife, Kay; granddaughter, Kristy Calhoun; and great-grandson, Vincent Grimaldi.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Basom of Florida, and Brenda Paschall and her husband, Douglas, of Zuni; a son, James Calhoun Jr., and wife, Roxanna, of Yale, Virginia; seven granddaughters; four grandsons; 15 great-grandchildren; two nephews; five nieces; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Wells; and a special former daughter-in-law, Susan McLane of Florida.
She was a lover of animals and will be missed dearly by her pets, Maggie, Daisy and Buddy the cat.
The graveside funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, in Charity Neck UMC Cemetery in Pungo, Virginia, with the Rev. Gregory Kitts officiating.
