FRANKLIN
On April 14, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) representative, Samuel Sacks, educated students in Mrs. Mona Sumblin’s class and Franklin High School’s Student Government Association members about Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. The Franklin High School SGA will be hosting its first JDRF walk on April 25 from 10 a.m. to noon on the school’s newly refurbished track. SGA chose to support the JDRF because members of the student body and family members battle this illness every day.

The SGA is asking the Franklin Community to join them on Saturday, April 25, to participate in the JDRF walk. More importantly, the team needs financial assistance. The members of the SGA and Franklin High School have set a goal of raising $500 to donate to the JDRF to assist in finding a cure for juvenile diabetes. This is a small donation for an illness that affects millions of young people. Therefore, we are asking you to please support our efforts with a financial contribution, so that we may surpass our goal. Please contact SGA sponsors, Chiquita Seaborne or Kelley Conaway, at 757-562-5187 if you have questions or need additional information.
