NORFOLK
The Gov. Terry McAuliffe administration has announced the commonwealth’s contract with US 460 Mobility Partners is being terminated.

Transportation Secretary Aubrey Layne announced the decision to the Commonwealth Transportation Board in Norfolk this morning. He stated in a news release that the Virginia Department of Transportation, with the administration’s support, has “provided a notice of termination to US 460 Mobility Partners for Route 460 construction.”

“The commonwealth has determined it is in the taxpayers’ best interest to terminate the contract,” he stated.

“VDOT tried to work with the contractor to deliver the revised project in a cost-effective manner. These efforts proved unsuccessful. The state will aggressively pursue all options available to do what is best for the public interest.”

More details as they become available.
