CARRSVILLE—Altha Carr Butler West, 92, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

A lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of the late Chester Lloyd Carr and Dollie Rhodes Carr. She was predeceased by her first husband and father of her children, Presley Barrett Butler Jr., and second husband, T. Rudolph West; a sister, Buenie Rose; a brother, Delman Carr; and a daughter-in-law, Frances Ferguson Butler.

She was a graduate of Carrsville High School and a member of Colosse Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jeffrey Lloyd Butler and Jerry Dean Butler and his wife, Ellen; three grandchildren, Frances Joy Butler, Nealy B. Hansford and her husband, Brad, and Anna B. Ward and her husband, Joe; three great-grandchildren, Burton and Rush Hansford and Sloan Ward.

The graveside funeral will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, in the Carr Family Mausoleum at Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Webb officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home of Jerry and Ellen Butler, 28166 Darden’s Mill Rd., Carrsville, and suggests memorial donations be made to Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 6361 Rhodes Dr. Windsor, VA, 23487.
