Lady Indians top Franklin on court

The Franklin High School Lady Broncos put up a fight but went down to the Southampton County High School Lady Indians 7-2 on Thursday. For the home team, Shadeejah Hunt, after splitting sets 2-6, 6-4, had to default in the third set of play to A’Roya Reese. Liz Conna also, after losing in the first set 3-6, retired in the third set to Kierra Crocker. Brianna Karmilovich fought hard and pulled off a big win for the Lady Broncos in a timely match 1-6, 7-5, 6-4 over Marena Vick.

Brianna and her sister Erin Karmilovich also won in doubles 8-6 against Vick and Carrie Beale.

The rest of the wins went to Southampton, with Beale besting Erin 6-3, 6-1 on the No. 2 court, and Camryn Heikens defeating Alexis Rodgers 6-0, 6-1. In the No. 6 spot, Cherise Darden defeated Franklin’s Kiana Reid 6-4, 6-0.
