FRANKLIN—William Marland Ward, 62, passed away on March 23, 2015.

William was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and was a son of the late Hallet Marland Ward and Ilene Ward Edwards.

He was a former millwright at the Particleboard Plant at International Paper/Nevamar, and was currently working at Montague Farms in Windsor.

He attended The Rock Church of Franklin. He enjoyed the river and was a former Bass Master.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Sharon Lunt Ward; one daughter, Crystal D. Ward of Franklin; two sons, William Shane Ward and wife, Audrey, and Robert Shawn Ward and wife, Merissa, all of Courtland; one brother, Bernard Eugene Ward of Norfolk; and seven grandchildren, Taylor, Angel, Bubby, Shawnray, Tasia, Hailey and Christopher.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor David Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in the New Annex of Poplar Spring Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 27, in the funeral home, and suggest memorial donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 5540 Falmouth St., No. 101, Richmond, VA 23230.
