BOYKINS—William Wood “Bill” Carter, 91, passed away on March 14, 2015.
He was an Army veteran of WWII, and served in the European theatre as a military policeman and at one time was one of General Dwight D. Eisenhower’s guards.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 66 years, Marie Jarratt Carter; one daughter, Dr. Carolyn C. Modlin of Boykins, two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, in Wright Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Baugham officiating. Burial with military honors will be at the Drewryville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Boykins Fire and Rescue or the church of your choice. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
