FRANKLIN
Anniversaries can be sweet occasions, and Dairy Queen has one of its own this year. The popular restaurant chain is celebrating 75 years of serving meals and treats.

To mark the occasion, DQs near and far will offer a gift of their own to customers on Monday, March 16, which is the 75th day of 2015. DQ is giving away a free 5-ounce cone with absolutely no purchase required beginning at 10:30 a.m. until closing.

There is a limit of one per customer, and that person must be present. Sorry, no taking cones to friends will be allowed.

The American Dairy Queen Corporation gets the credit for the offer, said Brad Bailey. “And we gladly stepped up to participate.”

The ‘we’ is the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Queen LLC, of which he’s the chief financial officer. Mitch Sandlin is the chief executive officer of that division, which has 13 locations.

“Hopefully, every one will come out and get their free ice cream,” Bailey said.

The local DQ Grill and Chill restaurants are: 1418 Armory Drive, Franklin; 27490 Southampton Parkway, Courtland; and 61 W. Windsor Blvd., Windsor.
