COURTLAND
A 17-year-old female was allegedly raped by a 17-year-old male near Courtland on Tuesday, March 10. According to Major Gene H. Drewery of the Southampton County Sheriff’s Deparment, the victim knew her alleged attacker.

Because both parties involved are minors, the sheriff’s office could not reveal any further details. The alleged attacker was not arrested when deputies responded, and the matter is still under investigation.
