FRANKLIN—Phyllis Edna Lakeman, 89, went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2015.
Mrs. Lakeman was a native of Thomaston, Maine, and was a former resident of Virginia Beach, who resided in Franklin in recent years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward William Lakeman; her parents, Pearly and Ruby Hall; a sister, Nathalie Sprague; and a brother, Bob Hall.
She was retired from retail sales, and was a former teacher in a one room school house after World War II.
Grandma Phyllis was a true believer, loved the Lord and was active in her Rock Church Life Group. She always had a song in her heart and loved to sing. She whole-heartedly sang in church choirs and Sweet Adeline’s Chorus groups for over 60 years.
Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Patricia Jean Dillon (David) of Franklin; two sons, Daniel Robert Lakeman (Faye) of Portland, Maine and Edward Ahern Lakeman (Donna) of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Jim Hall of Rockport, Maine and Wayne Hall of Williamstown, New Jersey; six grandchildren, Aaron, Tyler and Skip Lakeman, Tate Ballance, and Ben and Daniel Dillon; 13 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Andrea Lakeman, Rebecca, Amber, Russell, Emily and Abbey Ballance, and Jack, D.J., Benny, Dallas, Stone and Stella Dillon.
The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, in Rock Church of Franklin, 130 Lakeview Road, Franklin, followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Franklin Rock Church School.
