Belma V. Herrala

SOUTH MONTROSE, Pa.—Belma V. “Non” Herrala, 93, passed away on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at Smith Healthcare, Mountain Top, Pennsylvania. Born on Nov. 14, 1921, in Larksville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Albert Hunsinger and Mary [Cole] Hunsinger.

Her husband, H. Theodore Herrala Sr., predeceased her in 1986.

Before moving to Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, she was a member of the South Montrose Community Church. She worked as a pharmacy supply clerk for the former Montrose General Hospital now Endless Mountains Health Systems, the American Cancer Society, a green thumb at Lathrop Street Elementary School, and was on the board at Claverack Electric.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, H. Theodore Jr. and Barbara Herrala of Zuni, Virginia, James and Charlene Herrala of Windsor, Virginia, daughter-in-law, Margaret Herrala of Cobleskill, New York; nine grandchildren, Sean (Kate) Herrala, Cory (Emily) Herrala, Bret (Phifer) Herrala; Jason Herrala, Lindsey Herrala, John Wilcox, Jim Wilcox, Randal Wilcox and Clyde (Lisa) Wilcox; six great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Albert “Speed” Hunsinger Jr. of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania; her half-brother, Dale Pasker; her half sister, Joyce Nelson; a special “fourth” son and his wife, David and Joanne Cronk of\ Montrose; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, the Rev. Robert J. Herrala; her grandson, Stephen Wilcox; and a brother, Robert W. Hunsinger.

The service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the Bartron-Myer Funeral Home Inc., Montrose. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
