NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Community Development Block Grant Funding

 Southampton County will hold a public hearing on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 7:00pm at the Newsoms Volunteer Fire Department, 22146 General Thomas Highway, Newsoms, Virginia to solicit public input on a proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) proposal to be submitted to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development for the Newsoms Town Housing Rehab and Storm Drainage Project. Residents of the project area are encouraged to attend.

The draft CDBG proposal will be presented for comment along with information on projected beneficiaries, including the number of low- and moderate-income residents to benefit from the proposed project, and plans to minimize displacement. Citizens will also be given the opportunity to comment on the County’s past use of CDBG funds. A fact sheet on the proposed project and the draft proposal will be available at the meeting.
