SUFFOLK—William Darden Daughtrey, 75, passed away on Feb. 7, 2015.

William was born in Franklin, a son of the late William Thomas Daughtrey Jr., and Elizabeth Darden Daughtrey. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Charles L. Daughtrey and James E. “Goat” Daughtrey.

He was retired from International Paper after 35 years of service and from Farmers Produce after seven years. He was an Air Force veteran, a graduate of Windsor High School and was a Baptist.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Shirley Edmund Daughtrey; one daughter, Debbie Bowles and husband, Wayne; one son, Thomas M. Daughtrey and wife, Vicki; two sisters, Peggy D. Cutchin and Joetta D. Rice and her husband, Al, of Massachusetts; sister-in-law, Betty Daughtrey; and three grandchildren, Christy Adkins and husband, Dave, Jenny Bailey and husband, Mike, and Marshall Bowles; two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Riley Bailey; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 11 a.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Randy Wright officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Southampton Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home, and suggests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or your favorite Cancer Relay for Life team.
