CARRSVILLE
On Nov. 7, 2014, around 1:45 p.m. the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office received a call that possible human skeletal remains had been located in a wooded area in Carrsville, according to a press release from Lisa Martin, spokeswoman for the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office. On Wednesday, a medical examiner has positively identified the remains as those of Stacey Lynn Holste, AKA Stacey Virgili, through DNA testing. No foul play is suspected as the cause of death was determined to be suicide.
Holste was originally reported missing in September of 2009. At that time she was under investigation and considered a fugitive from justice with multiple arrest warrants on file for credit card fraud.
When Holste was reported missing in 2009, a complete search was conducted of the area with negative results. It was believed at the time that she fled the area due to the ongoing criminal investigation.
