LEWISTON-WOODVILLE, N.C.—Carolyn Futrell Jernigan, 79, died at the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015.

She was born in Northampton County to the late Julian and Beulah Futrell.

Carolyn is survived by her two daughters, Lynn Jernigan Bradley of Franklin, Virginia, and Lora Ann Jernigan of Winterville, North Carolina; son, Walter “Pete” Jernigan Jr. of Lewiston-Woodville; jer brother, Carroll Futrell of Conway, North Carolina; three granddaughters; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie, North Carolina.
The funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m. in the Lewiston First Baptist Church in Lewiston-Woodville, with the Rev. Henry Boschen officiating. Interment will follow at the Hoggard Memorial Cemetery in Lewiston-Woodville.
