CHARLES CITY
On Monday evening, the Franklin Broncos stepped on the hardwood for a road matchup against a fellow 1A TriRivers District basketball opponent Charles City. The Broncos dominated the Panthers with a 30-point victory, 64-34.

Steals were one of the big factors for the visiting Broncos. Corey Porter led the way with 11, while his teammate Darrien Duck had 8. Head Coach Robby Cutchins said it was one of the team’s best efforts on the season from a defensive standpoint.

“These young men really got after tonight,” Cutchins said that night. “Every loose ball we were determined to go get it. Whether it was diving on the floor or simply out hustling the next man, it was a phenomenal effort.”

Franklin’s Duck led all scorers with 19 points. Denard Williams had 13 points and 14 rebounds.

The Broncos are 4-4 on the season. They will next be in action on Wednesday against Brunswick High School on the road.
