FRANKLIN—Mr. Eric L. Reid of Harrison Street departed this life on Jan. 2, 2015, while resting peacefully in his home. The Franklin native was born on Nov. 4, 1975, to Willie Reid Jr. and Alma C. Reid.

Eric graduated from Franklin High School in 1994 where he played football. He enjoyed the game and he maintained a close relationship with many of his former teammates. After high school graduation, Eric attended Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerome Reid.

Eric is survived by two sisters, Belinda Reid and Vickie Reid; one aunt, Ruby C. Lawrence; cousins and many other relatives.

The celebration of life will be on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 12:30 p.m., in New Mount Zion Baptist Church, 415 Stonewall St., Franklin, with Elder Cornell Parker delivering the message of comfort. The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery.

A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin.
