To the Editor:

The action President Obama has taken to re-establish Diplomatic Relations with Cuba is a move worthy of praise. It was also a good move on the part of Mr. Castro.

When Russia’s Putin is courting the Castros, we need to do all we can to extend our hand to these neighbors only 90 miles away.

Don Careleone was right in the Godfather when he said, “Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.”

Members of our own Congress need to take heed and try to get a little closer themselves. Maybe making the Pope the Chaplain of our National Chambers would help with compromise.
