COURTLAND
Guy Wesley Ross, 83, passed away on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
He was the son of the late Jodie Ross and Emma Coker Ross, and was also predeceased by a son, Joey Dean Ross.
Mr. Ross was a retired paper mill fireman at Union Camp with 40 years of service, was a Navy Veteran, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Shirley Story Ross; a daughter, Deborah R. Hawks of Severn, North Carolina; a son, Michael O. Ross of Emporia; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Ross of Windsor; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be on Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 2 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The Rev. Jimmy Aarons officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Dec. 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
