The Southampton Board of Supervisors addressed a reappointment to the Industrial Development Authority at this month’s meeting, returning A. Meredith Felts Jr., of the Berlin-Ivor District, whose term was set to expire at the end of December.

Board member Ronald West recommended at last month’s meeting that Felts continue to serve on the authority, but wanted to confirm that he was still interested in serving another term before the board seconded the motion.

“Mr. Felts said he is real pleased to be reappointed,” said West.

Felts will continue to serve on the seven-member, board-appointed committee, whose purpose is to promote Southampton County as a viable industrial option, helping those manufacturing, industrial, governmental and commercial enterprises interested acquire, own or lease properties within the county.
