FRANKLIN
Detectives have developed a suspect in the murder of 22-year-old Martinez D. Hill, said Franklin Police Department spokesman Capt. Tim Whitt.

Police are looking for Joseph McDonald Lynch Jr., 23, of Franklin. Lynch, who goes by the street name ‘Chunk,’ currently has warrants on file for murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, shooting into an occupied vehicle and discharge a firearm in public resulting in death.

Hill suffered a gunshot wound to the head while riding in a vehicle on Saturday night. The people in the vehicle with Hill dropped him off at the emergency room at Southampton Memorial Hospital before fleeing. Hill later died at Norfolk General Hospital.
