CHESAPEAKE—Albert L. Street, 88, of Chesapeake passed away on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014.
He was the son of the late William B. and Flora E. Street, and was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Sarah Street.
Mr. Street served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired as a Chief Quartermaster. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Loyal Order of Moose, Boy Scouts of America-Eagle, past president of South Norfolk Ruritan Club, Ocean View Shrine Club, Chesapeake Shrine Club, Better Business of Chesapeake, Virginia Moose Association, Chesapeake Insurance Agency Association, and past captain of Khedive Temple Color Guard. He loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his son, Eddie Street, and wife, Jan, of Boykins; a daughter, Loretta Crespin, and husband, Walter, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a sister, Margaret of Chesapeake; a brother, Lonnie, of Tennessee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Tom Potter will officiate.
The viewing will begin on Friday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Rd., Chesapeake.
