FRANKLIN—William Ray “Bill” McFatter, 67, passed away on Nov. 27, 2014.

He was an Army veteran, retired truck driver and a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Nikki M. White of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; one sister, Virginia M. Riddick (Mills) of Powell’s Point, North Carolina; one brother, J. Wayne McFatter (Ginger) of Franklin; one grandchild, Michael Dale “PeeWee” White; two cousins, William Earl Wilkins and Carolyn Harrup, both of Windsor; and several nieces and nephews.

Ray was predeceased by his parents, Willie Marvin McFatter and Ida Virginia Holland McFatter, and a brother, James Marvin McFatter.

Graveside services with military honors will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery, Suffolk, with the Rev. Lindsay Poteat officiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Kathy Worrell, 717 Fairview Drive, Franklin, VA 23851.
