Earla J. Wiseman

FRANKLIN—Earla Johnson Wiseman, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014.

She was born on July 17, 1937, in Franklin, Virginia, a daughter of the late Raymond Carthridge Johnson and Anna Caton Johnson, and was also predeceased by her husband, Joseph Wiseman.

She was in the last graduating class of Carrsville High School in 1954.

After spending most of her life in Virginia Beach, and retiring from Nationwide Insurance Co., she moved to Maryland in 2010 to be near her grandchildren.

At the time of her passing, she was a resident of The Village at Woods Edge in Franklin, since March, 2014. She was beloved by her many friends and family.

She is survived by her devoted son, Ward Stephenson, and his wife Betsy; and three loving grandchildren who affectionately knew her as Nana: Megan (Chris) Stephenson, Nathan Stephenson, and Christian Stephenson all of Ellicott City, Maryland; her brother, Raymond Johnson of Suffolk; her sister, Cora Ann Johnson of Franklin; nephew, Troy (Terri) Johnson; niece, Amy (Mike) Dail; great-nephews, Lucas Johnson and Kyle Honeycutt; and great-nieces Haley Johnson and Kelsey Honeycutt.

The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, 206 W. 4th Ave., Franklin, on Saturday, Nov. 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Franklin Congregational Christian Church, 412 N. High St., Franklin.

Services will be private.
