FRANKLIN—Robert Clifton “Rob” Inman III, 39, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014.

He was a native of Portsmouth, and as a child attended West Side Christian Church in Portsmouth.

Rob was a retired deputy for the Southampton County Sheriff’s Department and was a security screener at the Southampton County Courthouse.

He was a volunteer firefighter for the Driver, Virginia, Fire Department and the Hunterdale/Franklin Fire Department, and had just become an apprentice Mason.

Rob was predeceased by his father, Robert Clifton Inman Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Holley Blythe Inman; his mother, Barbara Inman Carson and her husband, Fletcher “Billy” Carson of Franklin; and his faithful companions, Bizkit and Tater.

The memorial service was at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Gibson of Franklin Baptist Church and Trooper Joseph Carr, chaplain for The Virginia State Police officiating.

The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and following the service at Rob’s parents’ house at 236 Woodland Dr., Franklin.
