Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation will close the South Quay Bridge (Route 189) over the Blackwater River for repairs beginning Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 7 a.m., and continuing through Monday, Jan. 5, at noon.

A signed detour will be in place. East- and westbound traffic will be detoured via Southampton Parkway (US-58) and Smiths Ferry Road (US-258).
