Local 4-Hers participate in 4-H contest at State Fair

Taylor, 14, and Lane Cross, 11, of Zuni, participated in the 4-H Youth Market Goat Show at the State Fair of Virginia in Doswell on Oct. 3-5. Both 4-Hers did very well in the Showmanship class. Within this class, the judge is evaluating how individual animals are fitted (cleaned, clipped, etc.) as well as how the showperson is presenting the animal. Both Taylor and Lane advanced to the finals within their respective age divisions. Taylor placed fifth in the Intermediate Division and Lane was eighth in the Junior Division.
In addition to showing a goat, Taylor also exhibited her Beef Heifer at the State Fair of Virginia.
