ZUNI— Nell Fleming Joyner, 90, widow of James Elisha “Jimmy” Joyner, passed away on Oct. 23, 2014.

Mrs. Joyner was a former teacher at Carrsville High School, teaching the last graduating class of the school. She also taught at Isle of Wight Academy, retiring in 1973.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Tommy Joyner and Gregory Joyner, both of Zuni; one sister, Eva Mae Scott of Amelia; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The graveside funeral will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, in Mt. Carmel Christian Church Cemetery, Carrsville, with the Rev. Blake James officiating.
