COURTLAND—Mary Magda Hancock, 92, died on May 5, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Hancock of Courtland, and her first son, David Gemzer. She was a member of Courtland Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hancock is survived by her four children, Harry L. Hancock Jr. of Richmond, James C. Hancock of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Margaret H. Duffey of Virginia Beach, and Amana Magda Hancock of Lynchburg; two brothers, Emery Magda and Julius Magda; and three half-brothers, Richard Magda, Steve Magda and Frank Magda; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The memorial service will be in the Riverside Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, with the Rev. Tommy Speight officiating.
