FRANKLIN—Susie Lee Edwards Branch Eason, 96, widow of Sidney Elmo Eason, passed away on Oct. 18, 2014, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Susie was a native of Franklin, and was a daughter of the late Bennett Lee Edwards and Bernice Lee Edwards Branch, and was also predeceased by her foster father and uncle, Gurney W. Branch, two sisters and four brothers, Ruth Edwards, Janie Wood, Ryland, Willie, Clinton and B.L. Edwards Jr.; her beloved son, Sidney Donald “Donnie” Eason; and her son-in-law, John Lowe.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Betty E. Lowe of Franklin; her sister-in-law, Bernice Edwards of Courtland; five grandchildren, Susan Windrum (Matthew) of New York, Donna Rice (Tim) of Suffolk, Sharon Hill (Carson), Kenneth Lowe (Lynette) and Michael Lowe (Tammy), all of Franklin; eight great-grandchildren, Arick Hill (Dawn), Tiffany Fancher (Nick), Betsy Long (Mark), Kelly Kokas, Brittney Lowe, Donald Thomas Rice, Ryan Windrum and Emma Windrum; five great-great-grandchildren, Savannah and Kaylee Hill, Mackenzie and Noah Fancher and Cadence Lowe.

Mrs. Eason had retired from Peebles Department Store, and was a longtime member of Franklin Baptist Church.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Brent Kimlick and the Rev. James H. Hyatt Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Spring Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and suggests memorial donations be made to Franklin Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
