Throw the bums out in Washington

To the Editor:

As the 2014 mid-term elections approach, America continues in a lame duck presidency with the lamest of all Barack Hussein Obama at the helm. There’s little that can be done with that, other than wait for its passing. However, we do have the opportunity to eliminate some of his cohorts by exercising our right to vote in the mid-terms. Senator Mark Warner, the incumbent Democratic candidate, is among those. He supported the ACA. which you will remember was to be Obama’s signature piece of legislation providing health care to all. Warner claimed that he read every page of the act, unlike Nancy Pelosi who stated “we’ll have to pass it to know what’s in it” fame.

The question then becomes did Senator Warner comprehend what he was reading considering the multitude of problems it has caused? Senator Warner then supported Obama’s decision to borrow trillions of dollars putting the country in massive debt for generations.

That, of course, was not a concern of the Senator’s since in a survey of the top 10 congressmen who are the wealthiest, Senator Warner ranks eighth from the top claiming that his revenues came from earlier investments in the cell phone industry. Once again, the question needs to be asked about the individual who gave him this tip. Warner’s most recent questionable conduct has to do with his attempted manipulation of the Virginia General Assembly. Senator Warner’s concerns seem to be more about keeping his job than doing it.

There’s nothing wrong with change even if it brings about negative results. This is not a time for voting along party lines, voting your color, or being complacent about the process. This country has serious problems, which the present Congress doesn’t want to address. If an employer in a private industry has workers who don’t or won’t comply, he “throws the bums out.” We need to do the same.
