JENNINGS, La.—Funeral services for Joseph Craig Henderson, 60, will be at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Monday, Oct.13, 2014, at 2 p.m. with Father Charles McMillin officiating. Joseph was called to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014.
The Henderson family request that visitation be at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Sunday, Oct. 12, from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m.
Visitation will resume on Monday at 9 a.m. until time of his service. Joseph will be laid to rest in the St. Anthony Cemetery. Joseph was born on Dec. 26, 1953. in Lafayette, Louisiana, to the late Virgil Henderson and the late Jane Broussard Henderson.
Joseph loved cooking, hot rod cars, playing his guitar, watching the moon and stars and Sci-Fi movies. Most of all Joseph loved to fish whenever he possibly could. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Joseph is survived by one son, Joseph Scott Henderson of Gulfport, Mississippi; one daughter, Tara Miller (Jeremiah) of Mermentau Cove, Louisiana; one brother Jimmy Henderson (Theresa) Of Franklin, Virginia; two nieces, Mary Henderson (Chris) Austin and Angie Henderson (Kevin) Cavuoto, and two great-nephews, little Chris Austin and Nathan Cavuoto, all of Richmond, Virginia; one handsome grandson, Taylor Chet Miller of Mermentau, Louisiana.
He was also preceded in death by one nephew, Eric Henderson.
Carrying Joseph to his final resting place will be Scott Henderson, Jimmy Henderson, James Meaux, LeRoy Broussard, Charles Hammersky and Robert Wallis.
Honorary pallbearer will be Barry LeJeune.
