FRANKLIN
As a gesture of appreciation for its supporters, the Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its fourth annual MemberFest this past Tuesday afternoon, with a little over 50 people attending.

The featured attraction was a pumpkin-carving contest, which resulted in a three-way tie among the teams of Meghan Councill of Davenport and Co. with Franklin City Manager Randy Martin; Pam Lease of Bronco Federal Credit Union with Jim Strozier of Highground Services; and Victor Story of Vic’s Signs and Engraving with Mary Lilley of Coldwell Banker Realtors.

Teresa Beale, executive director of the Chamber, said judging was done by audience applause.

In addition to professionals connecting with other professionals, new members were also welcomed at the MemberFest. These were Helping Hands Sitter Service, Queen Bee Cleaning and Anita Falcone of Anita’s Alterations.

Representatives from Members Save talked about benefits to belonging to the Chamber.

Highground Services presented Trish and Tony Dunn from the the praise band “Unexpected Grace” to perform music for the occasion.

“It was just a great evening,” Beale said. “I think everybody had a good time and appreciated it.”
