Boykins—Joseph George Weiss, Jr, 81, passed away October 3, 2014. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph George and Elizabeth Laura Carver Weiss and Madeline Weiss. Joe was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was retired after 48 years of service from Narricot Industries in Boykins. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ethel Arnold Weiss,his second wife, Charlotte Cousins Weiss, and baby boy, Joey Weiss, III.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Nancy Nemecek and her husband, Jay, and Patti Thompson and her husband, Michael; four grandchildren, Courtney and Chris Nemecek and Arie and Lin Thompson and one great-grandchild, Hailey Nemecek.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 PM Monday, October 6, 2014 at Boykins United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Baugham officiating. Burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 PM at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Boykins United Methodist Church. www.wrightfuneralhome.org .
