IOW burglary suspect sought

ISLE OF WIGHT—Investigators for the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office have arrest warrants out for a suspect in several burglaries, according to Sgt. Tommy Potter of the Sheriff’s Office. There have been six break-ins since Sept. 18 in the Burwell’s Bay and Longview areas of the county, and these have reportedly occurred during the day.
Dawud Yusuf Ward, 21, has been identified as a suspect after investigation, Potter added. A search warrant was made for a residence in the 5400 block of Old Stage Highway, and items taken from four of the burglaries have been recovered.
The charges against Ward are: One count of receiving stolen goods; four counts of breaking and entering with an intent to commit a felony; and five counts of grand larceny
Ward has left the state and is believed to be in New Jersey.
The Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office is working with that jurisdictions to apprehend this suspect.
