IVOR—A Suffolk man died at the scene of the accident after striking an SUV from behind while traveling eastbound on Route 460 near Tucker Swamp Road, said Sgt. Michelle Anaya, spokeswoman for the Virginia State Police. The incident occurred yesterday, Sept. 27.

The 2006 Chevrolet SUV was stopped in the left lane waiting to turn onto Tucker Swamp Road when the accident occurred at 8:17 p.m. Willie Randall III, 63, of Suffolk, driving a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle, died on the scene.

The SUV driver was not injured.

Alcohol did not play a factor in the accident and notification has been made to family members, Anaya said.
