COURTLAND-The Lady Indians of Southampton High School picked up a 3-0 win against the Lady Eagles of Greensville High School in an out-of-division VHSL volleyball match. The Indians swept the Eagles 25-21, 25-16 and 25-12.

Courtney Vincent had 6 aces, 4 assists and 1 kill. Eve Robertson contributed 5 kills, while Jenna Billups had 13 assists and 4 kills. Emma Drake had 12 kills.

“Last night’s match started off a little slow, but we ended up pulling out the win and really settled in the last 2 sets making better passes and executing our offense,” Lady Indians Head Coach Amy Davis said.

Last week, the Indians suffered their first loses of the season, including a 5-game loss to Colonial Heights 19-25, 18-25, 25-22, 25-22 and finally, they lost the last set 5-15. They were also swept by Windsor 21-25, 21-25 and 23-25.

The Lady Indians are 4-2 on the season.
