Edwin W. Beale III

FRANKLIN—Edwin William “Boogie” Beale III, 67, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014.
Mr. Beale was born in Franklin, a son of the late Edwin W. Beale Jr. and Margaret Joyner Beale.
He was brought up in the Franklin Congregational Christian Church.
In the late 1960’s Edwin became one of the first four residents of the Zuni Presbyterian Center.
In 1981, Edwin became one of the first 12 residents of the Western Tidewater Community Services Board.
Left to cherish his memory are a brother, James A. “Jim” Beale of Olive Branch, Mississippi; three nephews, Chad, Wade (Kelly) and Joshua Beale; a great-niece, Dayvee Jewel Beale, all of Franklin, one aunt, Shirley J. Wentz of Raleigh, North Carolina; and also Edwin’s extended family, the staff and residents of The Neighbour’s Place.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. James H. Hyatt Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Spring Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, in the funeral home, and suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Western Tidewater Community Services Board, c/o The Neighbour’s Place, 5268 Godwin Blvd., Suffolk, VA 23434.
