ZUNI—A Zuni man was airlifted to Norfolk on Monday after being stabbed three times in a domestic situation.

Brianna Mathias, 22, of Camp Farm Road, Zuni, has been charged in connection with stabbing 50-year-old Anthony Lynn Jones once in the arm, once in the thigh and once in the calf, said Maj. Gene Drewery, spokesman for the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office.

Drewery said that when deputies were called out at 3 p.m. it was for a domestic situation, as the two have a child in common. But Drewery said he doesn’t know what caused the fight.

Jones was in stable condition when he was airlifted, but Drewery  had not received an update on Jones’ condition.

Mathias was charged with felonious assault due to the severity of the injury. She was arrested on the scene without incident.

Mathias is in Surry County Jail with no bond.
