FPD apprehends suspect in shooting

FRANKLIN—The Franklin Police Department had been seeking a suspect in an Aug. 16 shooting incident, where a house had been struck by gunfire, and they were able to catch him Monday at 9 p.m., said Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesperson for FPD.
Abdul Hakim Grant, 21, address unknown, was arrested without incident, Whitt said. Grant was tracked to the 600 block of Pretlow street through a submitted tip.
Grant was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, reckless handling of a firearm, concealed weapon, discharge a firearm within city limits, felony possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, destruction of property and violation of parole.
Grant is at Western Tidewater Regional Jail with no bond.
