Carole R. Moyler

WILLIAMSBURG—Carole Rees Moyler, 79, a former resident of Franklin, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 11, 2014.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas Theodore and Reba Falwell Rees, and was predeceased by her granddaughter, Maggie Moyler.

Mrs. Moyler attended Hollins College, and was a former assistant librarian at the Ruth Camp Campbell Library in Franklin.

She was a former pink lady at Southampton Memorial Hospital, a former president of Southampton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a former member of Franklin Garden Club and had been active with Relay for Life.

Mrs. Moyler was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, and frequently attended Williamsburg Community Chapel.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, J. Edward Moyler Jr.; her son, James E. Moyler III and wife, Charlotte, of Williamsburg; two daughters, Rees Moyler Johnston and husband, The Right Rev. Thomas W. Johnston, of McClellanville, South Carolina, and Amy Moyler McCarthy and husband, Dr. John J. McCarthy III, of Williamsburg; sister-in-law, Mary B. Smith and husband, Robert P. Smith; and six grandchildren: T. Welden Johnston and wife, Michelle; Atlee R. Johnston; Carole C. McCarthy; John J. McCarthy, IV; J. Walker McCarthy and James E. Moyler IV.

Carole was a gracious hostess who loved entertaining her family and friends wherever she was. Her selfless love sustained us all.

The graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, with The Right Rev. Thomas W. Johnston officiating.
