Allie B. Claud

CAPRON—Mrs. Allie B. Claud of Angelico Road, departed this earthly life to claim her eternal rest and peace on July 13, 2014, while a patient in Courtland Health Care Center. She was born on Oct. 6, 1915, to the late Joe Nathan and Cora Turner Goodwyn in Southampton County.

For many years, Allie B. was married to Ernest Claud Sr. and remained united until his passing in 1990. Mrs. Claud was a member of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board, Hospitality Ministry, Senior Choir, Women’s Ministry and the Missionary Ministry. She was also a member of the Antioch No. 72 Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by three daughters, Nettie Claud of the home, Dorothy Roberson, Mildred Young (Arthur) of Suitland, Maryland; three sons, Ernest Claud, Jr. (Sylvia) of Capron, Peter Lawrence Claud (Joy), Kenneth Claud of Suitland; five sisters; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives.

Mrs. Claud’s remains will be available for viewing from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home. The homegoing service will take place at noon on Friday, July 18, in Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, 11069 Old Belfield Road, Drewryville, with the pastor, the Rev. Carlton A. Powell, delivering the message.

On the day of service, her remains will be placed in church for viewing by 11 a.m.

A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by William M. Johnson and Sons Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin.
