Edna was a woman of few words. She was a God-fearing woman with a good heart and generous spirit. Her best expression was, “I would rather see a sermon than to hear one.” We were reminded often to live with this spirit of giving back.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Ella Hobbs and Robert Benjamin Mason.

Her siblings who preceded in death were Frank, Robert Lee, Olander, James Thomas, Samuel, Ruben, Curlie, Annie Laura Palmer and Margaret Hammock.

Her surviving siblings are Bessie Bynum and Nurney (Cordelia). She also had sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of her life will take place at Bryant Baptist Church, 23375 Bryant Church Road, Courtland, on Thursday, July 17. Visitation will be from 11 a.m to noon. The service will start at 12 p.m. The interment will follow in the church cemetery.

A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by William M. Johnson and Sons Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin.
